So, any takers? Any of you truly out there on a musical limb, doing any classic industrial, goth, electronica, clash, or the like? Identify yourselves! If I say: Skinny Puppy; Frontline Assembly; Die Form; Einsturzende Neubaten; Faust; Deine Lakaien; Orbital; Klinik; Hocico; Covenant; Dead Kennedys; Siouxsie and the Banshees; Yelworc; Front 242; Project Pitchfork; Wire; Second Decay; and so on, then what do you say?

Follow Ups:
i was just talking about this VERY phenominom in the LAST hip-hop hating thread here. the very SAME people that go on rants about hip-hop and GENERALIZE "gangsta rap" as all the genre is, are hypocrites who just as much like evil atonal anger music.the only difference is that their music is white and doesn't have a beat. other than that... it's really the same thing.
i don't care for gangsta either... but at least it has a beat.
Curve, recent Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, Clan of Xymox, Recoil, and...that's all I can think of right now. Orbital did have their moments.

Wanted to see them for years, finally!!!! Was able to go to Amoeba Records in SF and picked up a german pressing of Sisters of Mercy and some 7"s and a Deutch Nepal 10". Saw Siouxsie in the early eighties, Love and Rockets opened and were booed off the stage, pretty funny in retrospect. I am burned out on synthpop, any new bands with that good raw industrial edge? I did pick up the new Hocico red vinyl and finally opened the Converter 10" that was sealed in an anti-static bag. How do you like your Khorns? Did you do an Al.K crossover? I have a pair pushed by Welborne Lab Moondogs, a Quad qc-24 pre, SME model 10 w/Lyra Helikon, ARC PH-5, and CAL cl-20, it's a blast.

Hard to imagine Love & Rockets being booed off the stage, considering they were the original members of the primordial Bauhaus...BTW, I hear that David J. is djing these days, in LA at an event I just got word of that occurred a few weeks ago, regrettably.
And their alter-ego Ministry. "Texas has religion, Revolting Cocks are God!"
Geez, it's late....I should be in bed! Thanks to internet radio and stationripper.com, I've been discovering Current 93 and Death in June, among a zillion other artists. Always was intrigued by these groups. C93 - got a killer LP of some simple piano, guitar, vocal "apocolyptic folk" music. LP is unamed, but has tunes like All The Pretty Little Horses (damn good song). 'The Great In The Small' is a sucky album of wierdness - a collage of ALL their music. Experimental crap. Due to internet radio, I found a killer tune called Oh Coal Black Smith, another simple folk like tune of vocal and guitar. Thanks to ebay, an anticiapted quality sounding vinyl edition is enroute. Now I'm obsessed with getting other similar music, hopefully form C93! Ditto for Death In June for their cut She Said Destroy. So who knows anything about these two groups and what might be next for me?
LPD - The Legendary Pinks Dots. My favorite and I'm a rather hardcore collector. And man oh man do they have some stuff to collect! 40+ CD's and counting from this one group. Many are releases of rough versions of songs, unreleased material, comps. No, it's not all great. There's much I don't care for (the experiemental wierd, non-melodic stuff) but I will at least check everything out. Same for front man Edward Ka-spel's solo efforts and other related projects like Mimir, The Tear Garden, C93.... I better stop, other than to say for the best and maybe most assessible Dots......'The Golden Age'. For something early on......'Curse' followed by 'Brighter Now'.

Go to http://www.brainwashed.com/ for good info about Current 93 and associated bands, Nurse With Wound, Coil, and so on.http://www.brainwashed.com/nww/
http://www.brainwashed.com/coil/
http://www.brainwashed.com/sotl/You have heard Coil's Musick to Play in The Dark Volumes 1 and 2, right? Some of the best Mimir-like psychoacoustic stuff I've heard in a long time. A real treat for an audiophile.
You pretty much can't go wrong with anything issued by United Diaries, Steve Stapleton's label.
It's also LPDs official hang-out. I'm an LPD fan, too.
No, I haven't heard any Coil music? I take it you think I'm missing out!I'll see if I have any Coil download onthe computer. I still have abut 5000 songs to weed through on the computer so maybe there's some Coil in there. It was internet radio streams that led me to C93 and DIJ.
Are you aware of the Beta Lactum Ring Records label? They release some Ka-Spel and Dots work as well as many others. I see you have a turntable so you'd appreciate that they release some damn excellent sounding vinyl. It screams audiophile, but it isin't, not cost -wise anyways! Chris McBeth, the owner, is a really cool dude.
Check out a group called Whitelodge. BLRR has some of their stuff on vinyl and I highly highly recommend it.
Off to find some Coil to check out.... All I have is a tune called "Anal Stair Case". The style reminds me of Alien Sex Fiend a bit! Will see if I have any more on the home computer. Thanks for the suggestion.
BTW - checked out your system. Nice. Bet the Dynaco drives the Klipsch's pretty well. I've heard tubes (AtmaSphere's) on my big ole JBL's and was amazed at the sound quality and the control they had over the speakers. Hard not to play them load too!

Asleep By Dawn is a mag/catalog for Isotank Mailorder. Sign up for an almost bi-yearly free mag/catalog that has a sampler CD. Each sampler has caused me to buy 3 to 6 cd's each time. What makes Isotank nice is that they give little blubs about most items. What got me back in the gothic/darkwave/industrial genre in a big way was The Cruxshadows. See what I had to say at the following link where I was hoping to get a thread like this going! If there was one band besides The Cruxshadows that I'd like to shed some light on, it's Sunshine Blind and their CD 'I Carry You'. Some of the best females vocals I've heard and this gal can play the guitar too! While in the gothic/darkwave genre, there are more colorful than you may think. Very strong, at least the first 7 cuts. After the 7th and coolest (but certaily not most beautiful as others) cut, it's hard to top it soa good time to quit. 7 in a row is a damn good deal in my book.
The latest Skinny Puppy doesn't seem to cover any new ground :( That said, Nivek Ogre's Oghr project is cool with 'Welt' and 'Sonnysyop'. Is it just me, or is Kevin Cey's side projects boring or what? Solo stuff and Download don't get me going at all.
Projekt Records - very cool - see my comments in another reply in this thread.
GREAT FRIGGIN TOPIC, BTW!!!

While I'm mostly over the goth thing, I am just beginning to enjoy the dark ambient/experimental noise stuff. Great label for goth as well as dark ambient fans.
Well, they're a label I've come to like. I had gotten away from the gothic/darwave/industrial genre for a while only to get back into it and find there is some great stuff out there - more than I afford!Audra is nice - would suggest 'Going To The Theatre'. Black Tape For A Blue Girl's latest - Halo Star - features the vocalist from Audra on a number of tracks making for an excellent CD with great male and female vocals, interesting and intimate music, and even damn good sonics to boot. Being big on this CD right now, I'd say this is one to buy along with some samplers. Been digging Voltaire too - fresh, original, and devilishly fun :} Attrition, Unto Ashes, Human Drama are a few other groups that are pretty good for their nice music and vocal talents.
Projekt does have a number of cheap sampler CD's. I'd suggest...
Projekt : Gothic
Projekt : The New Face of Goth (New goth is prettier :)
Black Tape... has a cheap one too. Besides Halo Star, maybe something from the earlier days.

...and you naming all these bands is reminding me how old I am....I remember buying these on vinyl and early cd at Wax Trax in Chicago, back when they were on Lincoln Ave. Since I never sell music, I still have em all....how about Dead Kennedys on vinyl? New Order on Vinyl? Joy Division on vinyl? Front 242 on vinyl? Got em, so I'd say "come and check out my record and CD collection...."...but I haven't listened to the records in forever since I also have em on cd and don't have a decent turntable. You are leaving out one of my faves....The Lords of Acid. A little filthy for mixed company listening without clearing it with all the listeners and anybody within earshot. About 3 years ago when I saw em, it was maybe the second best show I have ever seen (the first is still Nine Inch Nails in 1991 at Metro right after Pretty Hate Machine came out. They were virtually unknown.)

Spent some time in Chicago in the late 80s/early 90s, so got pretty well inundated with industrial madness then with Wax Trax in full effect.Actually, I've got tickets to see Ministry and Thrill Kill Kult next weekend. Skinny Puppy and KMFDM are coming up too. Don't know if I'll make 'em all.
A new record that may appeal to fans of that kind of stuff would be the latest by Two Lone Swordsmen called From the Double Gone Chapel.
Oh, I'm tellin' ya', ya' GOTTA go to Skinny--their last show (3 mos. ago in Seattle) was one of the best shows I've ever seen. You MUST go! I'd almost drive the distance to see them again!Just saw Siouxsie last Sun nite--what a treat. She's still sexy as ever at 47!

Really ? Where ? Performing ? Was she wearing like, tight rubber n' stuff ? When Happy House came out I was smitten.
