They are unbelieveable bargain at the current prices.
They replaced Grado 225 in my system. Grado's were someqhat uneven and slightly forward. AT are smoother.
There are few negatives, though.
a) Do not anyone see you wearing them :-)
b) Based on AT dimensions, they are made for man of the future with head twice the size of normal person. I had to bend bars to get them to stay on my (not so small) head.
c) they pivot around vertical axis, not horizontal, so when I adjusted it for me, by method described under b, they may not fit someone else.
d) need decent amp to drive them or will sound slow.

Done deal. I have these on the way ...
I'm excited about this. I haven't had a pair of cans in almost 20 years and they have been sorely missed. My listening room is open to the rest of the house, so I can't listen if someone is reading, doing homework, etc.
This will fix that.
Thanks for the help.
I'll report back in a couple of weeks.

reelsmith's axiom: Its going to be used equipment when I sell it, so it may as well be used equipment when I buy it.
Instead of those JJ-s, which are not bad at all, try some NOS.
I do have a pair of Sovteck 6922, which I know can som times be used in place of the 12AU7, but not always.
I'll ask beore I try them.
Geeze ...you've got me tube rolling before it even gets here !
