As of today my Focal Elear headphone hit 60hrs. And starting to open up. They sound way better than what they did at first. I can just imagine what they will sound like after 100hrs. I heard the Utopias are nice but not $3k better. I did get the Utopia EarPods with bundle order, so I will give them a try and see how they sound then.
Follow Ups:
Had my pair for a couple years now. Still love em, except for the #$%^& squeaking when I turn my head. Took care of the cable issue with Periapt and AudioEnvy, and upgraded pads to Dekoni fenestrated sheepskin ones. Still very content. Dynamic, clear and even better on my Brooklyn Bridge. I want for nothing more, even though I know there's 'better'.
Glad you're enjoying.
I also have a pair with the Dekoni perforated earpads. They are a very nice set of cans, especially at the closeout prices they sold at 375.00.
I also have a pair of Focal Stellia phones. What surprised me was that the Elears are not all that different sounding from the Stellia, in that they share much of the same house sound. For casual listening, the Elears do the job quite nicely.
