I don't know if you can refer to Marantz as 1 of the "Big Boys" anymore here in the States ?
They may have been considered that many years ago when they were competing with Companies like Fisher ,but that was a completely different "ballgame"
back then. I'm not sure they've done enough lately to retain that status.
Their equipment has always been nice to look at though !!!

Might be more interesting if it had a provision for a set of Stax phones built in. I suspect many buyers will be the same market that Stax courts.

It might be worth it.
That would be very unique indeed as Stax headphones would require that the amplifier
would need an additional electrostatic amplification section as dynamic headphone amplifiers
won' t drive "stats".
I believe most Electrostatic HP amplifiers start at about $5k (other the one produced by King
Sound which is about half that or a Woo Audio "E-static" amp that goes for about 4k )
Woo has a couple of options below 5K.
