I have those, as well as ATH M50's. The 700's present an excellent soundstage, and response is very musical, good bass, mids and highs.
If you are wearing them at home it's one thing, but probably not out in public... They have a pair of curved rods that go fairly high over your head, and the phones rest lower on winglike tabs. Very comfortable but they
look funny. They are open backed though they fit over your ears fully.
Hard to beat for the price!

Which of the two is more comfortable?Which sounds better?
I am absolutely willing to give up having closed phones to gain comfort and sound, if that is that case.
But, if the 50's sound better, I'd put up with a little less comfort (I've read that they tend to make your ears sweaty ...I've experienced that many years ago with with Koss PRO4AAA ...they made my head hurt!).
Thanks in advance for your help.
Edit: All that I am finding on line point to the ATH-AD700 for better sound and comfort. Do you agree? I like that they are cheaper too.

Hi Dean, sorry I am late replying. I listened to my 700's and my M50's, and concluded that if I could only have one, it would be the 700's. I see that you already chose them, so enjoy!
the AD700's are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned and are extremely comfortable for me. For reference I've owned various Grado's, AKG K701's, and Sennheiser 600's.
