Is there any reason why I shouldn't use pink noise to splice my new subs with the existing rig? The new subs are the sealed SVS SB-3000. Thrown in, with the crossover frequency, slope and a starting level set, they rock. I have dialed them back somewhat.
Follow Ups:
But, I plug in a microphone and the subs do an automatic equalizer.
With regular subs, I set the crossover at 80hz and set the level using a few well known cuts with excellent drums and/or bass lines. Typically, over time, I'll back off the volume a bit until the sub doesn't stick out and disappears.

At 80Hz what slope to use? My sub offers -6, -12 and -18db per octave.
Is faster slope better to use in small to medium size room?
Typically, you'd want to use the highest, 18db octave, particularly if the sub is not directly between the speakers to avoid localization.

You will always start out with the sub gain too high and dial it down for best integration overtime. It's like a ritual. Have fun.

That has always been a tendency
