I have a DAC from my PC (I'm using an analog RCA, I don't yet have my optical cable), going to my AVR. So DAC > ADC > DAC, will audio quality get butchered like this?
Thank you.

You say that you are using an analog RCA and so DAC > ADC > DAC. It seems that you are you saying that you are using an analog RCA to connect the analog output from your PC DAC to an analog input to your AVR. If this is the case then there is no second DAC involved. Am I missing something?

You made me wonder for a second there. Well, my Denon 1910 AVR, is in stereo mode not direct or pure direct mode, it has a crossover settings for the subwoofer, i believe it has to ADC, in order to do the crossover setting?
Thank you.
will probably increase measurable jitter and distortion. BUT not neccesarily to any udible levels.

Damn, ok. I'll need to try the optical to be real sure then. Thanks.

Interesting setup, I'll keep it in mind. Thank you.
why not just connect the analog outputs of the first fav to a high level input on the receiver?

First fav? Sorry what is that?
Talking of high level, would a high level subwoofer connection use the subwoofers crossover dial, I could direct mode on AVR, but there's no telling if it bypasses the DAC on it in direct mode. I use stereo mode on my Denon AVR for crossover.
perils of posting by phone. First DAC.
The low pass filter on my powered subs works with its high level inputs. Check the manual.
