things have changed though here, like ultra hi-end which few can afford. Trickle down? Don't think so money wise. Nowadays it's survival for many

But ultra high end is bullshit. For the first time in the he history of audio the state of the art is not fiscally out of reach for many audiophiles. It's strange though that you can get a complete system that will give you state of the art sound and for the same money you can buy two power cords.

Way too much whining and griping around here. Chill!
Listening to music soothes the soul.
whining and griping? Ultra hi-end? There was a time not long ago when it was just Hi-End and before that Hi-Fi. I'm listening RIGHT NOW to my antiquated Quads with a new acquisition, a Yamaha integrated for $250, an amp with the new Galium Nitride transistors. Broken in now and it's a toss up between this and a Quad current dumping amp. Both perspectives are interesting, a soundfield WAY beyond wide and the other wide and DEEP.
Most will admit that achieving a very nice reproduction won't require spending many thousands. I like listening to music NOT SO MUCH equipment, the quest that alludes many.

No need for b!tichin' - enjoy the music. ;)
