While I think Amir has a lot to offer from a measurements based perspective as an amateur reviewer. He worships at the church of Toole and Olive. I got banned for pointing out that some of Toole's claims about the universal transferability of blind speaker tests from mono in their testing facility to any home audio system in stereo simply was not supported by any testing that was actually published by Toole, Olive or anyone else.
I didn't even say it was untrue. Just that no one including Toole or Olive was offering up any evidence to support it.
ASR has a number of really good contributors but the moderating is ridiculous and idiotic IMO. If you are going to use "science" in your title you sure as hell don't ban anyone for asking to see objective evidence in support of any assertions of fact.
I wonder if I am the only person to be banned from both ASR and the Steve Hoffman forums? They are pretty much opposite ends of the spectrum. Particularly for doing nothing but stating facts. Facts seem to be sooooo unpopular among audiophiles from all sides.
I will say this for Audio Asylum. Very tolerant. I've gone tit for tat many times here when the discussions had devolved into mud slinging.
. . . I think you're pretty safe over on classical, even when we get into some pretty passionate dust-ups! ;-)
Whatever happens happens. I'm doing just fine not participating in those other forums.
