He's fixed turntables for a couple of folks I know, including my brother. If he can't repair your CD player, he'll refer you to somebody who can.
Which is what happened when I called him about rebuilding my Hafler amp. He sent me to a guy, that guy did a great job on the amp.
The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

IIRC, he just repairs and rehabs turntables and farms out electronic repairs. Maybe.
I've talked to him several times, ordered a couple of belts, but a friend of mine had his vintage Marantz receiver repaired there and there are good testimonials all over the hi fi forums. My brother found a Technics TT in a dumpster, too it Galaxie for rehab. Other than the Red Ed cartridge, the deck is like new.
