My mom was taken by this horrible disease. One time while visiting her in the nursing home,they had a gentleman playing piano and singing. At this point she didn't remember my name,however as she listened to the music with her eyes closed,she was tapping her toes,and singing every word to every song. Amazing,the power of music!
That's a great memory of your mother for you to keep. My mom also died of dementia about 10 years ago, so hang on to the good thoughts.
