I had to go back to remembrance of my recording studio days to recall the experience of an outstanding dual channel UREI parametric EQ. When both channels are run through the same device, a dual channel unit would ensure that the unaffected channel will retain the same sonic characteristics of the affected channel. I came across a UREI 546 Dual Channel Parametric Equalizer on Reverb.com that might be right up your alley, lochrider. You might be able to make an offer quite a bit lower than the asking price, which is higher than others that have been found within the used marketplace, from what I've read.

Duster - Your suggestion seems to be my best option at this point. I'll make an offer and see if I can obtain that or a similar unit. Thanks,
Ian
Keep in mind that UREI is famous for their soffit mount studio monitors, the big boys built into the wall of a recording studio control room that are halfway between that a nearfield monitor and a live PA system, so they know a thing or two about notch filters in order to tame various room nodes, and such. Besides that, the sonic signature of UREI electronics tend to be supremely musical rather than analytical by nature. No mean feat for any EQ device. With a name like UREI, resale value will continue to be good for the foreseeable future as well, lochrider.
Put an offer in; I'll wait and see. My only concern is how it obtains power (i.e., whether is has a cord and plug or has to be hard wired, or needs a separate power supply). Thanks.
The UREI 546 features a built-in power supply and a 3-prong IEC inlet for use with a detachable power cord, of which should be an audiophile-quality aftermarket power cord product for your home audio application, IMO.
