So we're all listening to MP3's these days? Maybe in the 90's! Vinyl has outsold CD's last year? Who cares? Vastly more people get their music from streaming (often lossless streaming - or even hi-rez streaming!) these days anyway - certainly not from vinyl. This whole "featurette" is nothing more than geezer nostalgia supported by some golly-gee-whiz millennial, as a shout-out to the monied elites who control the media and who need some kind of distinctive "not-for-the-untermenschen" object on which to park their money.
Geez - this is so typical of MSM.
Follow Ups:
Streaming impresses me about as much as MP3........

No need to be so hostile towards older folks or people who happen to still like vinyl. More sales isn't an indicator of quality otherwise you would only eat at McDonald's and purchase Bose speakers.
In 2020 most audiophiles can afford to do it all - you can afford to get a respectable turntable, a CD player, an SACD player, AND all computer-based/streaming audio.
And when doing an article for the news - it helps to have some lead in hooks like the looks of the speakers (pretty) coll looking turntable (pretty) and the feel-good story that they hire local workers (read - it's not made in a sweatshop in China) and that the materials aren't "plastic" see real woods. And that it's expensive high-end but they're working to make it so the peons can afford it too.
The people who tend to own a very good turntable also tend to have auditioned or own computer-based audio. They can decide for themselves which sounds best to them and what is worth investing in.
The point is, we live in a world now where most audiophiles can afford all the formats.

Right on!

it's the first day of spring. Go outside and get some cool(cold)S.F. air.
Got into a big hours-long argument with one of my kids! ;-)
