But cats should be too small to make such a low frequency sound, as Karen McComb from the University of Sussex notes:"The purr itself is a very low-pitch sound, much lower than the cat should be able to do," McComb said. "The cat produces a pitch that is out of line with the size of its vocal cords and it can do it because it doesn't generate it by blowing air, but it twitches the vocal cords using muscles."

I guess a geek would measure the frequency of a cat's "purr"..... [-;
My point was, I see articles stating that something is good for you, then see an article stating that it is bad for you..... One could go insane if he/she takes this stuff too seriously.
