Having reached my three syllable birthday yesterday, I went back in time to Mixed Bag and a couple of live performances and listened to that voice for a couple of hours.
His phrasing, the way he owns those songs like 'Sandy' and the Dylan classic 'Just Like A Woman' have kept them fresh after all these years.
I was going to embed a Youtube performance but none do justice to the way he sounds streamed over your "big system".

I think we can thank the Woodstock Music Festival and film for making a number of great performers famous and allowing wider exposure. I am thinking of Cocker and Havens in particular.
