Interesting review. I'm curious: How much power does it draw/use itself (above and beyond what the components plugged into it draw)? Thank you.
Follow Ups:
Unlike the PS Audio, the EC (also balanced) is cool as a cucumber
Well rather than talk about a bunch of cds, this morning I played a torture cd- Reference Recording Requiem. When the choir is in full forceful voice, in the past I was not able to turn the volume up enough to appreciate the majesty of the music, as the sound would get ear-bleed hard: Not today!
I also played DMP Salamander Pie which has a lot of upright bass. The background ambience is so clean I have an excellent sense of instrument spacing at the recording studio
Later today I plan to remove the front end from the EC 300 and plug/play them all plugged into the 1200
I have been curious whether/how much there is cross-contamination from the digital front end to other components, if all are plugged into the same conditioner. Like many, I run my digital from a separate isolation device. Years ago, I considered a balanced power conditioner and then went in a different direction. Your posts have me thinking again.... So, thank you in advance.
Just aa quick update
As suspected, the 300 does not sound good when piggybacked to thee 1200. Direct to the wall really warmed it up with significantly better textures
That's the plan today. Just waiting for a buddy to show up. will be trying front end directly into 1200 vs front end/300 direct to wall
Perhaps I can be of some help. I own an Isoclean PT-3030GII balanced power unit. It is a 3kva device, vs 1.2kva for the Equi-Core. I've measured a 10w draw when the unit is switched on. This draw is only from the "loss" of converting 120v to two 60v lines.
The link shows what the Isoclean looks like...
you would need to ask the manufacturer Core Technologies
