Isn't the point of a switching amplifier to improve output stage efficiency?
I can see using tubes in the front end as you find with other hybrids, but not high feedback switchers.
work in very reactive loads specially adapted for 100 volts line in PA systems.
I'm thinking that most sound reforcement guys won't be using tubes today.
I do, however, find that VTL tube amps have worked very well driving my electrostats. :)
yes , probably its a melancholic design because i have on the bench of my lab 100 years of electronics devices and you can choose what you want to achieve an objective(for example i work today with magamps in mid frequencies ).anyway its interesting to see how a non linear tube or a very good one gives to us only switch caracteristic and all became similar(except for knee points ,voltage and currents)and eficciency of course.you can forget the SOAR available in the device.
Ħit was for fun...!żits not enough reason ?
