The embedded videos require Flash to be installed and turned on.

The "iframe" format doesn't work anymore..... Need to revert to the old "object" format.....
(Performance is Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.)
Where does YouTube offer that option? I don't see it, or did you manually change the embed code?

I just go to an old video post of mine, click "Edit", and copy the format. And then replace the YouTube ID with the one for the desired video. I also replace the "dimensions", if the resolution is significantly different.
I posted many videos here up until two weeks ago and was able to view them on AA (though not on Youtube where I sourced and embedded them from).
Now there is no trace of them on AA when I click on any of the posts with my 10.4.11.
Adobe Flash no longer supports older imac's, nor does Safari.
Nor does Apple.
Didn't change any settings recently either.
I CAN view them on a laptop but don't bother due to the shitty sound and the inconvenience of using a laptop.
I can still use this old computer for 88% of what it needs to do but seem to loose a % every year or so as it becomes a more antiquated machine.
It's a slow, interesting, technical death.
Too bad, I liked watching videos posted here.
I can STILL post cat pics though.

Apple has never liked Flash, but it's strange that something that worked suddenly doesn't anymore.
Are you using an older PowerPC? Did you upgrade Safari?
Anyway, I found a thread on Apple's support forum which might be helpful.

had read that before and tried it.Nada.
Upgraded all over the years until no more upgrades available.
YT vids would work on AA until two weeks ago.
THEN the YT image would appear but not play.
Now only white AA screen with AA imaging but no trace of YT.
Flash player help is now a dog chasing its own tail.
I guess the last time I cleaned cookies from this relic it removed any vestiges of previous Flash usage via YT/AA.

. . . for quite a while now. ;-)
Probably not. The current Youtube embed code uses an iframe call to insert a page into the web site. If we allow iframe tags, then we open a huge security hole, so we disallow iframe calls.
Perhaps someday I'll have time to try to only allow Youtube iframes, but it's a bit of a spaghetti coding task and could have some degree of risk.
With Chrome, you can allow flash video by web site domain which might be an option for you.
