In the end, it's not the format that matters; it's the music.
Exactly! And now all of mine is portable and accessible across all my systems without having to schlep media around!
There was a time years ago when I burned copies of CDs for the other systems. Boy, was that a pain!
Follow Ups:
Interesting, but I don't want to take my music with me everywhere; I like listening to it in my listening room. When I'm in the car, I like listening to NPR; when at work, I like listening to Pandora so that I can be exposed to new music. But the real listening has to take place in the listening room.

To each his own I guess. I listen as many hours to the modest garage system in good weather as I do the main system.
And occasionally in the bedroom using an iOS device and Shure SE535 IEMs - or when I'm on the lawn tractor.
