I like how you downsize.
That would be quite the opposite for me.
Thanks for sharing.
Enjoy !

Thanks Dean, if one can downsize and improve the sound, then it is a win win situation. I feel pretty lucky that it has worked out this way.
Sorry to ask this question but do you really feel the CD music sounds better than the LP in your system? Or the convenience of the simple system compensates?
Cheers
Bill
If it is a good recording, I think it sounds as good as a record; if it is a bad recording, then no. The main issue is that most of the music I listen to is on CD as I haven't purchased any records for decades, and buying all of the music I like (if even available) on vinyl would be very expensive, indeed. So there is some practical considerations here as well. In addition, having the chance to sell my 250+ record collection to one individual, who is a friend, made the decision a bit easier.
If well recorded SACDs were available for everything, the decision would have been very easy. I would say, however, that this decision is probably about 10 to20 years in the making as I really do hate to part with a (very good) turntable that I've had for 30+ year.
Getting rid of that lovely Turntable must have been painful. But then you are a pragmatist. Hope there would be SACDs for all your favorite music.
I love that triangular detail you have at the corners between the walls and the ceiling.
All the best
Bill
