Sorry folks, it's called progress.
Some of you may have noticed 'Not Secure' messages recently in your browsers. In their infinite wisdom, the browser cabal decided that all web sites must use secure server certificates in order to protect the guilty.
We've always done this for contributions or anywhere you might use a credit card. Since we don't keep any credit card info and most people login once and hardly ever again, we didn't worry about it for posting pages. However, recently, Google, to name one, updated their browser to show a 'Not Secure' warning if there's even a form on the page and particularly if there is a password or credit card input box.
Therefore, we had to fund the coffers of the secure certificate vendors and buy a couple new ssl passes. We've put those on the primary and the cgi servers. We still have more that we need to buy which will happen over time. Unfortunately, this side lined our responsive project to fully support phones and tablets and required more work than anticipated.
In the transition today, you may have seen screwed up pages. The problem is secure versus not secure connections which won't allow some Javascript, css and other tools to load. I believe we've gotten all of those issues resolved. If not, send me the url of the page that either looks strange or doesn't work properly and we'll get it fixed.
And lastly, if you use the Classic view, all of your visited links got hosed. I'm sorry. There's nothing we can do about it. Browsers see https://www.audioasylum.com as being a totally different domain than http://www.audioasylum.com.
Thanks for the support and let me know if you run into any issues.

Follow Ups:
...I was having problems embedding YouTube videos. It used to work but then it stopped. I never looked into it to see if it was something I was doing wrong.
It's just the standard iframe embed code and we transform it to a flash object due to issues with iframes. At one point, Youtube didn't support the old embed and then changed their minds due to complaints.I did notice that it takes a while to show up if at all on the Preview function which is strange.

Also, there's no window at the bottom for posting new topics like there used to be. Also, I've tried to post replies to existing posts, and nothing is there when I refresh the screen - it's as if my reply went out into the ether! Or the Russians stole it! ;-)
Seriously, thanks again for the explanation of the strange behaviors - I thought there might be something screwy with my computer.
Posting was screwed up for a while yesterday. The last part to get fixed was the replies to posts.
For new topics, we moved it to a secure link which works better, so there is a link at the top.

but it seems to have resolved itself. Reloaded the site, checked the cache etc.

Thanks for the update & for your candor, sir!
all the best,

Asking me to sign when I'm *always* in? This is my 2nd try to post this here.
Yeah, I found about 98 other little things to fix in the last hour. The biggest issue is that Javascript won't load on a secure page if it's not served from a secure link. Between the database and all the programs and libraries, there seem to be a million places to check.
I think I got the problem in Vinyl fixed. Let me know if it's not.
Thanks

I have found many browsers to be totally crap on a stick.
But FireFox works and works well.
Test, can't post to central. Good for you Sysop. Now new messages for me.I think encryption is a good move, however forced, it is required,
I'll let you know if I can post anywhere else.

Yeah, there were a couple of issues that took a while to find. Some it was web server configuration along with an extra " that slipped into the post template. Ah, the perils and cut and paste.
Remind me how much I love 'vi'.

I like nano, but rarely use it, mostly just notepad (at work where we have to use windows), good luck and thanks again.

I typically use UltraEdit on Windows for development with the local test server, so I can have a zillion files opened and hot edit and test instantly. But, once the changes are uploaded, it's all text editing. On BSD, I used 'edit' for quick text edits. Nano looks similar. Vi is on everything, so I just use the devil I know.
