even though you don't actually touch it? I have a little table radio at work that I listen to. Problem is my favorite station comes in a bit weak which is not surprising since all it has is a simple thin wire antennae. Yet when I lean towards it the radio station comes in sharp and clear even though I'm still about 3" from touching it. Yes, I know our bodies act as an extension of the antennae but is there any way to 'mimic' this phenomenon? Because as soon as I move it into the right spot and let go, the station goes weak again. Hey we've all been there.
I'm sure it's grounding issue but again, is there a easy fix rather than connecting a roof antennae?

It's a result of Body Capacitance.You would get better answers to your questions if you provided critical details, like what band and modulation* (Amplitude or Frequency) you're trying to receive, and the broadcast frequency. It's relatively easy to increase the reception of one frequency if you don't care about getting the rest.
* Means AM or FM

We are electrical objects. As a result, we affect (not effect) our surroundings electrically.

Yes. Hire a hot 22-year-old girl to stand where you get the best reception. (Or, you could hire an ugly fat guy, but why would you do that, when you can hire a hot 22 year old girl?)
:)

Your antenna is too short.
Oh... you meant the radio's antenna!
