I lived in Sing for 4 years and had lots of stuff sent there from the States. Generally USPS is best as their interline carrier/partner is Sing Post. This is for cost and efficiency. Sometimes they are also the fastest, depending on the type of service you are willing to pay for but that increases cost.
In the last few years Sing Post has reduced their box dimension maximums so big items are extremely expensive as they will limit your type of service options to their upper tier services. At that point the UPS, DHL, FedEx etc. become more attractive.
The other option is to use a US-based freight consolidator who has bought space on a sea or air container and then consolidates shipments from the US to Singapore.
One last thing, while their is no import duty, you may be liable for VAT.
It depends on how heavy the item is. Typically USPS is the cheapest for smaller items and I've never had problems with them.

I've used DHL was satisfaction.
Their site keeps wanting me to open a account just to get a quote.
