"Beverly Hills Cop." No?Lummy, your description of this Hina is something I must see. Any photos? I have this image in my brain. Wonder if it's close to reality.
Is Hina short for Hinamatsuri? Girl's Day in Japan. Or Doll's Day... IIRC.

Let's switch perspectives, and see it from Hina's side. She is now going to summer school, entering her senior year. We audiophiles are now advancing in age, so we may have forgotten what HUGE gap exists, between a mature 17-year-old girl, and an immature 13-year-old boy. Moreover, any other senior would balk, "Why I am I stuck with some crummy ugly freshman, who doesn't even go to this school?!"Okay, back to the skit. Instead of ignoring, denigrating, or putting you down, Hina takes you under her wing, deflects attention, provides guidance, shows you around upper campus, and allows you to stand on your own two feet.
Even though you are taller than the 5'4" Hina, you weigh less, and due to the age and experience gap, you feel smaller.
I forget what Hina's last name was. Alphabetically, there were 2 or 4 students between me and Hina. I want to say her surname started with the letter N, but if I guessed something like Nomura, I'd be wrong. Actually, Hinalani was her middle name, but everyone, including the teacher, called her Hina. Moreover, she wrote "Hinalani" on papers.
On account of that blazing Hawaiian sun, Hina keeps her Ray-Ban shades close by, usually on top of her head, but also in a breast pocket. Whether indoors or out, Hina never wears her shades, while talking to you.
Hina asks you questions in a neutral tone, allows you to think and speak, listens, and takes into account what you have to say.
As your lab partner, Hina is also your field trip buddy. In class, you learn that the first field trip will take you to Makapu'u, Sandy Beach, and Sea Life Park. The class spreads out along a ledge overlooking Makapu'u, whose waves you have to count and measure. The well-to-do Hina wears a silver analog watch, with an elegant chain-like wristband. But you have your Casio digital wristwatch, so you are able to be the one who times the waves. Clipboard in hand, Hina graciously defers to you on the problems. She records the figures you relay to her, does the math. You double-check her calculations, and like her nice-looking yet legible handwriting. You slowly come around, and feel like you and Hina really do have a 50/50 partnership.
At Sandy Beach, the whole class, many of whom have gone bodysurfing there, is in awe of the shore break. Done with the assignment, Hina puts down the clipboard. She turns to you, slides her shades down the tip of her nose, looks you in the eye, and asks, "Do you have a girlfriend?"
As a 13-year-old boy straight out of middle school, your interests are in Robotech, Transformers, G.I. Joes, Legos, Dungeons & Dragons, and sports. You defensively recoil, "No!"
Hina smoothly removes her shades, flicks her straight and healthy black hair in that sultry manner, and smiles comfortably, "I don't have a boyfriend."
She isn't the slightest bit worried, stressed, or anxious. Obviously, someone that genuine, mature, accommodating, and nice is highly regarded. You know she could patiently find the right match for her.
Obviously, all those attractive but intimidating junior and senior girls are out of your league. But from here on, when talking to you about girls, Hina begins her sentences with, "When you have a girlfriend..."
Given that you've never had a girlfriend, you harrumph to yourself, "Wow, that's presumptuous," andsigh, "I wish!" But then you smile that a class act like Hina states that it's "when," not "if," you will have a girlfriend 💜💜💜
