Very nice review, as usual.
Were you aware that there's a Blu-ray version of this album released in 2014? It evidently contains three versions of the album: the original 1985 stereo mix, a new PCM 96kHz uncompressed re-mix in 5.1 surround and a 2014 re-mix/re-master.

Follow Ups:
The SHM-CD is based off of a late-90s remastered edition.
I have not seen the SHM-SACD, so I am not at liberty to comment.
Here in the US, a 2-CD deluxe edition came from the 00s. I contains a chock full of b-sides and remixes. I haven't heard those two discs since 2008 or so, at my employer's Bush Street warehouse.
I have seen, but not heard or viewed, a 6-disc package, which included a DVD-A 5.1, plus a DVD video.
I leave it up to others who actually have these releases, to tell us about them.
Lummy- i own the U.S. 2-cd deluxe set. A nice collection of mixes.
The MFSL gold cd is the best 2-channel digital.
Fantja,
Is this the 2-cd deluxe version you are referring to? Just curious, as this is the copy I currently own. Now I might consider hunting down the MFSL.
Cheers!

Yes Sir! it is the one.
not bad at all for what it offers. The MFSL, like so many other titles, is the best digital.
I thought I had the deluxe now I see I have the 1999 remaster. The MFSL pretty expensive when it can be found. I may end up picking up the deluxe. Some left right channel issues were fixed on the deluxe as well. Now for the life of me I can't remember what exactly I have a deluxe of. Maybe Alan Parsons. LOL! Losing track!Jonesy

Several re-masters out there on this CD.
I ordered the 2014 Deluxe version last night. The one Steve Wilson was involved with. Should be interesting.
Cheers!

Nice! Jonesy
which other version(s) do you own for a comparison?
Nice! Joe-
only a masterpiece album would be released in so many different formats!
