Assuming that this is a combination modem/router/WiFi device, then you will have to set it up using a computer plugged into one of the ethernet ports. I'd imagine the default settings would be fine, but you will have to set an admin password and then set a WiFi password. If it supports both 2.4 and 5-Ghz WiFi, it may require adding a password for each one.

When I was supplied a new router from Cox communications, I plugged in the cable, logged onto the user name and Nework key which was a sticker on the router itself, I logged in all the computers and Receiver, and I'm good to go.
I don't know as my Cox setup is different. All I got from them was a Cisco cable modem, then I plug my router into it via the WAN connection. The router has a default password and username, admin/admin, that should be changed. I then have wireless access points or WiFi routers in a few locations which also have admin logins as well as WiFi passwords.
Some systems have a network login just to access Cox's network or whatever. If that's what you have, you still should login to the router and change the password which would be different from a network login.
Confused yet?

YES!!!!!! It should be here tomorrow so will know more then...
BTW, I've experimented with various cabling for a streaming audio application, and find that my Xfinity modem/router is quite sensitive to AC power cords and Ethernet cables. Definitely something to look into, IME.
