Hello, The meter for bias on my 8b is shot so I purchased a device that plugs into a tube socket and then put my driver Tube in that device. I thought this would work fine as I don't bias that often. Problem is I don't know what to set the bias at. I prefer the bias in millamps as that's what this particular device is designed for. Anyone know how I can get this information?
Or voltage is OK, but then I need the formula to get to milliamps... thanks so much for looking

-make sure that the selenium rectifier in the bias supply has been replaced!
It is unwise in the extreme to operate the amp unless all the filter capacitors in the power supplies have been replaced. If they have not been replaced recently, the power transformer in the amp is at risk of failure due to overheating.
The amps will also sound quite a bit better after the filter caps are replaced.
The "bias" mark on my meter sets total current thru each EL34 to 50mA. This value is verified on the schematic as 0.68V across the 6.8 ohm (common per pair) cathode resistor or 100mA total or again, 50mA / tube.
Thank you, that answered my question!!!
Hope this helps...
it might just help you...
