While vacuuming the rack area, the hose nearly took out the front row of tubes! Luckily only one casualty.
Lesson learned-if you must vacuum near the amp, make certain the cage is on.

You can still use the tube if the glass was not damaged. The vacuum is not lost when the guide pin breaks. Just use another similar tube to mark with tape or a sharpie both the tube and the socket. I have several tubes with a broken tip and they work perfectly
Yeah, initially I thought no big deal.
After removing the pin from inside the amp, I stuck the tube back in and powered up.
No luck. The bad tube indicator light lit up.A closer look reveals the break indeed killed vacuum.Luckily, these tubes aren't scarce or ridiculously priced...yet.
No spares, so out comes the shoebox and I replaced all 8 tubes with my second fave-the KT77. The sound just isn't as exciting like these old coke bottles.
I'd really like to try the KT150,but 8@$100 is too extravagant for now.
