You end up with "something tangible in your hands": okey dokey.
I love the music of Dmitri Shostakovich ...

I mean how else are they going to do it? Hire a studio that has analog tape, make a master and molds and so and so on?It's a good idea that's fun. No one expects it to be an audiophile dream recording. (I always find it haed to say or write "no one expects" without saying or writing "the Spanish Inquisition" I had to physically restrain myself).
So. lighten up Francis. OK? Jeez. I think I'm going to make one for my sweetie. For about $100 you get a reasonable facsimile of a real record that has 34 minutes of music or whatever you want on it. Pretty cool.

May as well just hold a vinyl record in your hand while playing a MP3 on your smartphone earbuds. ;-)
