When I was about your age I set off on a quest for new speakers. Listened to a lot of stuff in the chain stores that didn't do anything for me and were way out of my price range. This went on for a few years. Then, luckily, I stumbled on a small shop. Their "low end" stuff was actually in my price range and it actually sounded good. Amazing.
But the best part of the story was the salesman. Instead of dismissing me as a young college student he sat me down to listen to a lot of gear. It was a wonderful experience and, yes, I bought speakers (and eventually other things) from him.
So, these days when I'm old enough and have enough money, it royally pisses me off to get treated like slime from some audio sales freak. One place in particular sells the Sonic Frontier line that I'm dying to hear. It takes me over an hour to get to their store. I walk in and they treat me like some low class boob.
Now, mind you, I REALLY want to hear the Sonic Line. But not enough to put up with that crap.
I still haven't heard it.
That sales freak 'coulda made a 5 or 10 grand sale that day. WHAT COULD HE HAVE BEEN THINKING?
