Despite what some people say.. hi-fi was alive and well in the early 50's.
We had a killer audio system at home when I was a wee lad.
The amp was a huge Stromberg and Carlson tube amp. The pre-amp and tuner/multiplexer were heathkit. We also had a Bel reel-to-reel tape deck playing thru some 3-way Jensen speakers. The whole house was wired and most of the rooms had calrad pots and a headphone jack. Music was always playing.. mostly classical.
So I made the full circle and I'm back to all tubes...
Round and round we go....
