Roughly 1971 or 1972: A three inch thick slab of open-cell foam stopped the bass notes from feeding back through the stylus ... but the cure for the wood floor bouncing was to drill a hole through the wall and put the turntable on the other side (in another room). I was in engineering school at the time and the parents were quite confused by the new 3/4 inch hole through the wall for my turntable interconnects and thought I needed my head examined.

I've looked into many otpions and the wall mount seems the best solution. But in the living room where the system resides this is not an option.
