The point is that you bought an entire kitchen full of very nice large stainless steel appliances (nicer than the average person owns) for less than some people pay for a CD player. So? I bought my house for less than what some people pay for car. Like Quint said, you can drain your finances pursuing any hobby.

I have a feeling I don't want to live where you do. Where I live, this is what $300,000 will buy:Construction 1962
1/10 acre
2-9X12 bedrooms
1-6X9 bathroom, original
Kitchen with dinette, original
10X12 living room
basement
no garageNearest city: Boston, 81 miles
I live in Southern NH, so I have some idea what the market is like around Boston. But there are a lot of cars that cost more than $300k, and some more than $1M.And if you really have money burning a hole in your pocket, there's always yachts and aircraft.
Why ask me "So"? I was just pointing out that many came up with something other than what I saw in post. I have no other point to make.
