I am not trying to be combative here but I feel that Rod and the others have a good handle on what goes on around here. I personally think that news of fraud is always acceptable info to have. I understand that the Nigerian thing has been around for a while but come on.

On the surface, this appears to be an innocent thread about speakers. I don't believe the bored reviews every thread and they would have no reason to review this one unless it was pointed out to them. If I'm wrong, I don't see any overall harm to the Asylum.

There's a British guy who has a site devoted to baiting these scammers. Although I don't endorse the practice, the results can be rather amusing. Cheers.

They are all classified under the general class of
"419 Nigerian Advance Fee Schemes", though many emminate from other countries. The principal named in your case is likely Afrikaans and the scheme probably is South African in origin. In any case, people fall for this. Do not treat it as a joke. Submit this to the FBI, as I recall they have a special email address to send such scams.

I saw a show on TV about this last week. I thing it was Discovery times.Anyway...this is an established, long running international scam. Nigeria's gross national product owes something to it.
