Agreed. Law is usually on the side of the noise abatement lobby. Best solution is to get a good set of headphones and a HP amp then you can crank it up as much as you like!

Late night sound from my Sennheiser 600 driven by SF line 1 (with headroom processor) is better than any set of speakers anyway and you dont have to worry about room acoustics etc.
