Hello -You can order it from any Ayre dealer or distributor. Please see our web site at www.ayre.com for listings.
There has been flurry of interest since Paul Bolin gave the IBE disc an honorable mention "Golden Note Award" in the latest The Abso!ute Sound. We are in the process of re-pressing the disc to accommodate the increased demand, so please be patient if your dealer runs out temporarily.

How is your disc different or better than others like the sheffield, or the purist discs? Are they all the same? Thanks in advance.
Hello -Thanks for your interest in the Ayre "Irrational, But Efficacious" system enhancement disc. I'm sorry I can't provide any meaningful comparisons with the other products that you mentioned, but I have never used them.
Perhaps the most useful tracks on IBE are the short and long sweep tones. These are the ones that can be used to "enhance" (probably demagnetize) your system. (Excepting, obviously, the turntable and phono stage. For that, you'll need the Cardas Sweep Record.)
The idea for IBE in fact came from the Cardas Sweep Record. I had owned one for years, but had never used it because I was skeptical that it would be useful. When our Marketing Director, Gary Mulder, performed a "before and after" test with the sweep tone for me, I was astounded at its effectiveness. We discussed the need for a similar product for the CD format, and decided to make one for testing purposes.
George Cardas generously provided the technical details of the sweep tone on the Cardas Sweep Record, and within a few days we had made our first test CD. It proved to be extremely effective. When I told George about the positive results, I suggested that he should also make a Cardas Sweep CD. He then suggested that Ayre should offer that product instead.
We spent some time optimizing the sweep tone for the CD format, and also included an assortment of other tracks that we felt would be generally useful. The final result is the "Irrational, But Efficacious" system enhancement disc. Try it, you'll like it!
