The ST-70 has very high input impedance, around 470k. You could likely run a cap coupled 12AX7 preamp into the thing, so I wouldn't be too worried. By the way, what kind of tubes does this unit run?

Reviving this old thread to ask, in my turn, about the output impedance of the TU-875. I am contemplating one for driving a pair of ATC SCM-100 active speakers (power amp input impedance: 10 Kohm, sensitivity: 1V). I would have to terminate interconnects to XLRs for the balanced power amps. Any views on this match most welcome!
Regarding your question, I consulted Mr.Fujita (the designer of TU-875) and he says that although he has not checked the output impedance of TU-875, 10kohm of impedance is normal and should be no problem to use it with TU-875.
Hope this answers the question
Thanks
Victor
