Has anyone experimented with changing the original 470K input load resistors to 47K? and also the pas 3,would there be a advantage ?
Thanks

You would load down the input which would affect the frequency response.
Especially with the PAS-3 you would get a major rolloff in the bass. Don't do it (who suggested it to you, anyway?)

A electronic engineer,so he says.....
Said to disconnect the 510K RESISTORS AND THE 2 62 k RESISTORS ON THE LINE BOARD.
That would probably make it OK, but what would be the point? A resistor across the line is a resistor across the line, no matter whether it is in the preamp or in the amplifier.

not much said but then a lot said!
The load should be carried respectively, does this not make sense?
modern equipment has this particular load,it's the early iron that loads up at higher ohms.Does it make sense to adjust the load accordingly?
THANKS,AND ANY INPUT ON THIS IS WELCOMED

If you are using the PAS and Stereo 70 together: Dynaco designed the two so that they are ideally matched together with the resistors at the output of the PAS and the input of the Stereo 70 at their stock values.
Using a modern transistor preamp into the Stereo 70 with its stock load is no problem at all, and might even reduce the current demanded from the output stage of the preamp. It's the opposite...using a PAS into many transistor power amps with their low input impedances...that gives trouble and potentially serious bass rolloff.

I have loaded all my Dynaco gear to 47K.I think it sounds better now and most modern gear is loaded at around the 47K MARK.Some say you can see the improvement on equipment between the 2.Any input on this subject?

Yes. It's your equipment to do with as you choose. Just bear in mind that "most modern gear" is lower-impedance transistor equipment and classic Dynacos are high-impedance tube equipment. The two do NOT behave the same.

I hear you,I run all the Dynaco gear together. With the FM 1 which is rebuilt with original tubes sounds haunting.I love this old American iron and help it along the best I can.
