Thanks Thorsten. I grabbed it while grabbing was good.
I'll actually be in the unique position of comparing SB I to SB III very soon, which will be interesting.
Right now listening to the MkI after a wk's run-in, and it sounds very accomplished.
I'll be giving both units, Mk 1 & 3 -- the acid test in the next few weeks.
Thnx

And what about this one...?
Did they implement a shaft-extension for the source-select at some point ?
I had wondered about that, as a possible future project for mine, it would eliminate a fair amount of internal back-&-forth wiring to the inputs... And eliminate it on the primary side, or input side of the transformers... which seems to be the place to lower resistance/capacitance if possible...
(Or at least that's the hearsay, something I've heard about Tvcs in general somewhere or other on the net--- that the secondary side is pretty robust and can drive most cabling it's asked to, but the primary side benefits from short and low impedance cable / connectors / etc )
These are so neutral & transparent to source even a minimal-percentage improvement feels like it would still be worth it...
If & When I can convince myself to stop listening, disconnect and get busy, that is ...
