  I had same problem w. Marantz CD-14 & Thule PreAmp...
  Solved by using an external DAC.

  Set the vol to max , it bypasses and dsp processing and blank off the IR sensor on the CDP (but then you get no track changes) - either that or get a programmeable remote and see if you can delete remote volume for the cdp or dont teach it that(perhaps it wont respond to the amp)

  I dont think it will be possible to disable just vol control in the cdp
