I've dabbled with the new Version 4 on my Android phone and iPad and I'm finding problems with the Playlist. I spend time adding individual tracks that once played disappear from this list. I may not want that! Worse still is if I decide to jump forward or select a new track using Play Next or Play Now. Disaster! All previous tracks, even the un-played ones vanish and can't be recovered.
Can anyone suggest a remedy such that an unsaved Playlist remains intact until I decide to ditch it or save it - as with V3?
Here's a screenshot of Version 3 on Windows - If I was using V4, and I skip to select Bella Donna, the previous 4 tracks disappear, even though they may not have been played. Thanks
Follow Ups:
I'm giving up on Version 4 (disabled it) because it's lost important functionality. You can't easily scroll through album or artist listings like before and you can't specify albums or artists (from a NAS library) in searches so it searches everything; not helpful. Once again it appears that BluOS is catering to people that use streaming services as their primary music source.
Not sure I follow you with your Library problem. I've just done an arbitrary Search of my Library (for "Adams") on both V3 (on Windows PC) and V4 (on Android) and results are identical. Could you elaborate?
If I go to my Artists or Composers list (which I never do as they are totally useless, particularly for Classical), neither version will offer only Artist matches - ie Search is a search of your entire Library and never of just Artists or Composers, etc. The results though are listed under separate sub-sections - Albums, Artists, Composers, etc whether using V3 or V4.
For good Library results, best in my view is to use Folders after you have moved wrongly filed albums into their proper folder. Then if you have main sub-folders as (for example) Classical, Non-Classical, World & Weird, Jazz or whatever, when you open Folders, then the sub-folder of interest, you have a relatively short list of all your artists or composers of that genre, depending on how you've arranged your folders. It's so much simpler and clearer than messing about with metadata or trying to find something by a Search.
I rarely use the search function so I may be misremembering but I could have sworn I could search just album titles. The main reason I went back a version is that I like to peruse albums on the NAS library by using the scroll button on the right hand side of the screen, which shows up when you first start scrolling. I can grab the button and move it up or down the screen to stop at a particular alphabet letter and then slowly scroll through that section of the library to choose an album to listen to. It's like a high speed perusal of my LP or CD collections. The latest version of BluOS broke that function.
