Anyone heard/owned one of these and would care to share an opinion? W4S
has some refurbished units for a good price
Whether or not you can observe a thing depends upon the theory you use. It is the theory which decides what can be observed. - Albert Einstein
Follow Ups:
I owned the W4S DAC2 then the DAC2-DSD. They were both a little more "robust" and "full-bodied" than some others I've had but they retain excellent transparency and detail. I wrote this back in July 2020:
"I like all three DACs a lot and if I had to rank them in order in my current office setup it would look like this:
#1 PS Audio NuWave DSD DAC by a very tiny margin. It's almost too close to call.
#2 Topping D90 DAC. Tons of features AND it sounds great!
#3 Wyred4Sound DAC-2DSD. The more robust sounding of the bunch.
The W4S is especially well suited in systems that might be inherently a little lean sounding. And while it is rich, warm, and robust like the TEAC DAC I once owned, it retains a good amount of transparency and detail that was lost in the TEAC."
+1 on the W4S!!!
I still have mine...although it has been off the shelf for a while now. It took a dCS uber unit to pull me away from it.

If you are in (or near) NC, you're welcome to come listen to a V2SEdsd. Been sitting on a shelf for a few months as it was replaced by a dCS. But, easy enough to put back in the system short term.
