yep the Gustard is not cheap, and with your mods it gets pretty expensive,
i'm afraid, let alone shipping to you, then pay for return...
for that whole price you can get the below one, with rave reviews around
besides, no opamps and a rolling orgy: rectifier, caps and output tubes... ;)

I don't think the DAC has feelings so a list of comparisons to a more expensive DAC won't be taken as a great "love lost".Expensive? Well that is a relative term. Some would say that any component under $1500 is a "budget" component. I personally don't know any DAC under $2000 that is serious except for your mentioned Musical Paradise and the modded Gustard Pro. However, everyone has a budget.
