Just to mention how much I enjoy a moderately-priced Gustard X12 DAC for a distributed audio configuration. A Monarchy Audio DIP functions as the digital source fed by a Toslink cable from my computer audio workstation system located within an alcove at a back corner across my listening room. When fed by the Monarchy Audio DIP, the Gustard X12 DAC has been very sensitive to any and all I/O cables and power cords associated with it, which helps to prove its capacity to serve as a reference-quality audio component, IMO.

Hi Duster,
I've had the Gustard U12 and X12 in my system for a while now and am quite pleased with both products. The U12 and X12 are connected via a 0.3 Meter WireWorld Chroma 7 Flat HDMI Cable. The HDMI connection provides the best sound to my ears. I have a power cord constructed of Supra LoRad 3x2.5 MK2 cable and Valab Carbon Housing Rhodium Plated Copper connectors at both ends to the U12. The X12 has a cable of Western Electric (NOS) double run of 16 awg per hot and neutral poles and SonarQuest Aluminum metal Gold Plated Series IEC Plug Connector C25-G(T) and Valab Carbon Housing Rhodium Plated Copper plug. To date these cables are providing the best sound. Of course I could get a bug in my ear tomorrow and begin another rotation of cables.
Best,

Hi Duster,High praise for the Gustard X12. My Perpetual Technologies Dac is getting pretty long in the tooth and I've been intrigued by the Gustard line. Also waiting for release of the Oppo Sonica Dac. I'm grateful there is product within my budget.
Cheers!

Excellent dac. If you would add a Singzer Usb converter you could feed your dac with an I2S HDMI connection. Will make what you have even better. Enjoy
