Please see post above. I wanted to add that the TacT A/D is 24/96. Anthony Cordesman writing for the Absolute Sound in giving the TacT 2.0 a golden ears award stated "...and the sound quality and the transparency of the electronics are generally, excellent. Only the analog to digital converter option is a bit veiled, and getting flat, smooth, time-aligned response is generally more than worth a minor loss of transparency." To which I think: "No loss of transparency would be even better".
And so my neurosis continues in seach of improvement.
Follow Ups:
Considering you are doing so much manipulation of the digital signal via the RCS I doubt you would get major improvements with another AD, and if you do , it would probably cost silly money.
Jitter is not a major issue with 24/96 AD conversion.
I wouldnt sweat it.

"Jitter is not a major issue with 24/96 AD conversion". Yet I have seen glowing reports of the improvement effected by one or even two jitter boxes used in conjunction with upsampling converters. I am strongly considering a Monarchy DIP ahead of my MSB Link III with upsampling option. Should I give up these ideas?
