Just curious- how are you doing this?

I gather you're not familiar with the Squeezebox and the Slimserver software that feeds it program material. The process is very simple. Let's say you put together a collection of jazz from a variety of different albums. You can save this or any other collection of songs as a playlist. The process is very similar to making playlists in Windows Media Player or ITunes. That playlist can be recalled anytime you'd like to listen to that group of songs again.

Hi mls-stl.I am a little familiar with SS/SB. I was simply curious to know if it was common knowledge among new adopters of a Squeezebox that using iTunes as file/playlist manager is much (MUCH) more: versatile, efficient, user-friendly, aesthetically-pleasing than doing this in SS.
In short, I have found iTunes to be a beautiful piece of software. In fact, it is so much better than anything I have ever experienced from microsoft (SS, of course, is from SlimDevices) that I am now seriously considering switching from a PC to a Mac when I replace my computer in the next couple of months.

agree on all points. my wife and i looked into the apple laptops when we bought our last laptop in december of 2005. still a bit to pricey for what we use our laptop for ( web surfing, email ), so we went with M$FT. i am hopeful that on the next one we will be able to buy a MAC.

yep, that is pretty much it. i do use itunes, so i set my playlists up there and then setup slimserver to use itunes, which then means i have my playlists to use.
