I've used the Gold Maxell CD-Rpro and some Memorex Black CD-R. CDs burned sound better than the original. But I could not distinguish between the Maxell and Memorex.
I see mofi.com has gold CR-R'. Wonder what they are like?

I understand the MO-Fi golds are actually MAM(MITSUI) Golds. I use the MAM Pro Studio on my RealityCheck burner along with the Jena Labs 3 D treatment and this combo seems to work very well.

  The MOB-Fi Golds are far more expensive than the MITSUi Golds. Are MAM Pro Studios the same as the RealityCheck blacks?

    The MAM Pro studios are gold and are reputed to be exactly the same blank as the MO-Fi Gold. I still use the black ones I purchased with my RealityCheck but prefer the MAM's.

      Specifically, that the MFSLs are just rebranded Mitsuis. I compared the two, and honestly I couldn't hear ANY discernible difference. I'll stick with the Mistuis, thank you, and save some cash for a change. :)
