First decide what you want out of the upgrade.
The Rega used as a player will sound different than your setup. Whether it's better, would be your decision.
Will it sound different as a transport? Probably not much.

I think I might wait till I have a little more $$ then maybe even get a used Transport.

Sounds like a nice player from what i've heard. But some of the descriptions of its sound seem similar to what I already have in my Rotel RCD-970.
