that self proclaimed Golden Ears and people who claim to have perfect pitch rarely if at all believe in DBT? Nor do they ever consider themselves "objectivists."

I mean maybe they should call themselves "objectivists", after all they're the ones that *** DON'T *** believe in some entirely unproven and virtually unused methodology (i.e. testing tool). And of course the irony is perfectly symmetric, after all those that call themselves "objectivists" are the ones that *** DO *** believe in some entirely unproven and virtually unused methodology (i.e. testing tool).
Yes indeed, truly ironic!
I consider myself an objectivist and when my money is being spent, only rely only on my ears. And have pieced together a pretty good rig over the years. So how many years have you been a subscriber? And bj, how many of your components are on the Class A list? But then again, if you were a true subjectivist, would you really care?

I rather suspect none, I'm not sure really. Class A on the list?, almost certainly none ... thought if the preamplifier I use were evaluated I'm certain it would ... call be biased. :)Just started new subscription, last time was for a few years back in the late 80's, early 90's. The only reason I did was because the Chapters in my little burb (just north Toronto, were I work) can't be relied upon to provide a free copy for me to browse, there's whole months where SP (and other audio mags) does even show up ... pathetic!
The objectivists are the ones that seem to think in absolute black and white. They eschew personal experience for theory and speculation.
Without the faceplate visible, would you be able to discern between two competently built amplifiers kerr? Or would the differences be too gray for you to do so?

Never found it necessary. The problem is that time is limited and I'd have to give up some music listening time or time I spend with my kids or doing several other worthwhile things in order to spend time playing parlor tricks that serve no purpose.
