The London will likely be less expensive. But IMHO one of those Lps that should be collectable but isn't.
Very "roomy" but immediate and dynamic orchestral sound, no doubt spot-mic'd at the beginning of the Concerto for the Left Hand.
. . . not only for the Ravel works, but also for the much less often heard Faure Fantaisie. (And of course having it on open reel was a big "luxury" at the time!) I really don't know why I've never acquired the CD, but perhaps I've been seduced by Martha and Khatia (at least in the Ravel G-major Concerto, Khatia only in concert) in the meantime. Also, I thought the Kocsis/Fischer recording was outstanding too - and the Zimerman/Boulez. . . Of course, none of those recordings had the Faure Fantaisie.
